My dream
My name is MM And I have a passion. At first I am an artist who has tried many different art forms but I am committed to one: music. I want to be a music manager.
I’ve always wanted to be a manager. In fact, my interest in art developed as a consequence of my passion for this world. I started my studies in photography because I thought it would be useful for my clients if I could self promote them by making posters and also to be able to learn more from my others interest. I learned the use of Photoshop and other tools and with my many production classes I learned how to properly use a semi-professional camera and a 4X5 camera. Through these endeavors I’ve learned about studio work and post-production, lighting and composition. I also learned to appreciate art for its own sake.
I had a lot of art classes and learned how hard it is to paint for the first time, to work with different matter and charcoal pens and learned to make art in different ways and using different forms – achievements that I never thought I could realize.
I lived in this little photo and art world for a year and a half and would have loved to continue but life has other plans sometimes. At 18 I moved out of my moms and into my dad. No cable, no phone, no Internet (which is pretty hard when everything is mostly online for school work) and no job so I took a year off and worked as hard as I could. I guess this path wasn’t the quickest to take to finish my studies, but getting an incredible job at the University of Montreal and my first apartment gave me a new sense of independence. Later on I applied to Dawson College in photography and Cinema, so that I could develop another façade behind the camera hopefully and to improve my English. I got an acceptance letter in cinema communication …
Cinema studies gave me a lot of different tools like: how to use of a Mac computer which I still to this day completely hate, how to edit in final cut, to describe give an opinion and have a very open mind on different forms of cinema, how to experiment with images and sounds and so on.
I am 21 soon to be 22 and all these challenges in my life made me what I think is a good, devoted, realistic, honest and hardworking person that doesn’t refuse a challenge which will make me the music manager I wish to be.
